Random Thoughts

I ride the train to work everyday, and that's where I get most of my knitting done. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking as I sit there knitting away listening to a knitting podcast or bopping my head to The Brand New Heavies, Earth Wind and Fire or Corrine Bailey Rae, etc. Every once in a blue moon I'll look up and catch someone staring at my knitting. They usually smile and carry on with whatever they are doing freaked out that I caught them. I smile back and go back to my knitting. It makes me feel good and at peace. Knitting keeps me calm.

I guess I should bring you up to date. I'm suppose to be working on my dream knit for the I Have a Dream knit-a-long. I almost finished all my pieces except for the sleeves. Here they are.

I had to stop though because I am now working on my first submission piece. I'm pleased with it so far, but need to get it done before the end of this month, so that's why I haven't been blogging much. I'm hoping to get back to my dream knit soon. In the meantime, I snuck in a little bit of time and made myself this reversible blanket to keep me warm on damp nights since we've had so much ice, snow, and rain lately here in South Jersey.

Not to stray off topic but I love watching DIY. As I'm sitting here typing, I've watched/listened to Creative Juice, Knitty Gritty and B. Original. They have great ideas for the person who likes to do it yourself.

Andrea, you do not know how much your kind words of encouragement mean to me! I just ripped out the sleeve for the piece I want to submit to knitty, so frustrated I decided to check my email...and there were your nice comments! Leave it to a fellow knitter to be there when needed!

I have not even picked up my "I have a dream" knit...for me it is a "you must be dreaming" knit. Your sweater is looking great! Good (no GREAT) luck with the submission. I will be keeping my fingers (or needles hehe) crossed for you!
